Meet Ebony - Founder and Lead Tutor

 

I am U.K. qualified Teacher of Mathematics with a decade of state and private educational and private tutoring experience in the United Kingdom and in the Middle East. I am also a qualified SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) and my experience in this area of education means that I consciously create an inclusive learning environment for all. 

 

I have worked in both primary and secondary schools in mainstream and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) settings. I have taught a vast range of students from the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1-4.

  • Teacher of SEND

  • Teacher of Mathematics

  • Teacher of Primary (Early Years and KS2)

  • PGCE Mentor for Trainee Teachers of Mathematics

I was 'okay' in my maths at school and was always the student that needed a bit of extra time to process learning and complete my work. However, through dedication, resilience, and unwavering focus, I transformed my approach to and outlook on maths. I understand the frustration and anxiety that can accompany challenging concepts, and I also know the incredible sense of achievement that comes from overcoming these hurdles. This personal journey has not only honed my mathematical skills but has also equipped me with the empathy and patience necessary to be an effective teacher and tutor. I am committed to helping your child navigate their own path to success in mathematics, ensuring they feel supported and confident every step of the way. With my guidance, they will not only improve their grades but also develop a genuine appreciation for the subject. I am the best tutor for your child because I have been in their shoes, and I know how to lead them to excel!​

My mission is to:

  • maintain the highest standards of learning while enhancing students' understanding of the school curriculum through thorough instruction in Number, Algebra, Geometry and Measures, Ratio and Proportion, and Probability and Statistics, according to the National Curriculum of England and Wales and the various examination entry boards (11+).

  • focus on a holistic approach to learning, equipping students with skills including resilience, attention to detail and adaptability, to overcome life's challenges and achieve long-lasting academic success.

  • engage students with problem-solving activities, investigations, puzzles, and challenging games, I inspire intellectual curiosity and a love for mathematics, offering personalised instruction to meet each student's unique needs.
