Our Story

Meet Ebony

Founder & Lead Tutor

Every child learns differently. Every child thinks differently. Every child deserves teaching that recognises both. I have never believed that great teaching is measured by how well a teacher explains a subject - I believe it is measured by how well they understand the child sitting in front of them.

Throughout more than 13 years in education, I have worked with children across the full spectrum of ability - from those requiring additional support to highly able learners preparing for selective entrance examinations.

My teaching philosophy is built on a simple belief: outstanding outcomes begin with understanding how each child learns. When children feel understood, appropriately challenged and genuinely supported, confidence grows, mathematical thinking develops and achievement follows.

The results speak for themselves:

  • Every GCSE student I have personally tutored has improved by at least two grades

  • Every 11+ student I have prepared has secured a place at one of their preferred schools

  • Primary pupils have consistently made measurable progress, with most improving by at least one attainment level during their programme.

The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see.

My Experience

My career has spanned mainstream, private and specialist education across the United Kingdom and the Middle East, where I have worked with children from the Early Years through to Post-16.

Over the past 13 years, I have held a range of teaching and leadership roles, including:

  • Private GCSE, 11+, KS2 and KS1 tutor

  • Lead SENCo

  • SENCo

  • Deputy SENCo

  • Teacher of Mathematics

  • Teacher of SEND

  • Primary Teacher (EYFS, KS1 & KS2)

  • PGCE Mentor for Trainee Teachers of Mathematics

This breadth of experience has enabled me to develop an ambitious, adaptive and outcomes-focused approach to teaching. By combining high expectations with carefully tailored challenge and support, I help children unlock their potential, accelerate progress and achieve outcomes beyond what they thought possible.
