Individual Tuition

The duration of each individual lesson is 1-hour.

Lessons are booked on a monthly basis.


One-time registration fee per student (includes onboarding, collating the appropriate assessments, marking the assessments, providing feedback and creating a scheme of work).

 With The Education Warehouse, consistency is key. A commitment of at least one term’s worth of lessons is necessary to ensure progress and the continuity of learning.

Lesson Breakdown

Years 1-5

To consolidate mathematics knowledge, catch-up on mathematics learning missed due to the coronavirus pandemic and to be prepared for the new academic year.

Year 6

To consolidate mathematics knowledge, catch-up on mathematics learning missed due to the coronavirus pandemic and to prepare for SATs examinations.

Year 7

To consolidate mathematics knowledge, catch-up on mathematics learning missed due to the coronavirus pandemic and to be prepared for the new academic year whilst adapting to the secondary curriculum.

Years 8-9

To consolidate mathematics knowledge, catch-up on mathematics learning missed due to the coronavirus pandemic, prepare for the new academic year and prepare for the learning of the GCSE curriculum.

Years 10-11

To consolidate mathematics knowledge, catch-up on mathematics learning missed due to the coronavirus pandemic and prepare for GCSE examinations.

You can tailor your child's lessons to suit the following needs:

  • Weaknesses and gaps in knowledge

  • Mathematics mastery

  • Exam techniques and efficiency (excluding entrance examinations)

  • The National Curriculum – covering the standards children should reach in each mathematics strand (Number, Algebra, Geometry and Measures, Ratio and Proportion and Probability and Statistics)

Pre-assessments - Years 1-6

Your child will need to complete arithmetic, reasoning and problem-solving, times tables and division assessments (arithmetic, reasoning and problem-solving only for Year 1-2 students). These assessments do not need to be sat under timed conditions.

 

This data provides us with a general understanding of what your child can do and what topics they struggle with; you will receive the scores.  

Pre-assessments - Years 7-11

Your child will need to complete two foundation/higher assessments and a times tables and division assessment. The two foundation/higher assessments do not need to be sat under timed conditions but your child will need to time how long it takes them to complete the times tables and division assessments separately.  

 

This data provides us with a general understanding of what your child can do and what topics they struggle with; you will receive the scores.  

 

 

All lessons will also include:

  • Work marked in the lesson for instant feedback

  • Feedback at the end of each lesson verbally or via email

  • Plenary reflection to gain understanding of how your child feels about their individual learning

  • A differentiated approach to learning by ensuring that your child's needs are taken into consideration and catered for adequately

  • Receiving the resources used in the lesson

  • Receiving extra resources for your child to consolidate their learning

  • Online lessons: receiving the pdf version of the online whiteboard used in the lesson

  • A termly assessment to reflect on learning, progress made and next steps

  • An initial 10-minute phone consultation to discuss your goals for your child and any concerns that you may have

So, how does the registration process work?

  • Please click the button below and fill out the contact form, stating your child's name and year group, their current level in mathematics and your goals for your child

  • If there is availability and we can meet the needs of your child after an initial discussion, you will receive a registration email with instructions

  • The registration email will include important registration forms for you to complete and assessments for your child to complete (Years 1-6: arithmetic, reasoning, times-tables and division and Years 7-11: higher/foundation non-calculator and calculator papers, times-tables and division). All of these documents will need to be scanned and sent to us via email at least a week prior to your child's first lesson

  • Online lessons: a recurring link generated by Zoom will be emailed to you once everything (including the deposit and remaining payment) is finalised

  • You will be sent a document detailing the termly scheme of work for your child in order for you to be aware of what topics will be taught each week.

Please note:

If you and your child are new to the Zoom software, a video tutorial will be shared with you so that your child can familiarise themselves with the online lesson format

The assessments are crucial in informing The Education Warehouse about your child's mathematical attainment and also ensures that they receive the right level of differentiation during their lesson.
